To understand capitalism-imperialism, I’ve since began looking at a certain reactionary ideology which interrelates with it extremely well: Malthusianism. In fact, it shouldn’t be a surprise, given the historical conflicts between Malthusian followers and revolutionary leftists. Revolutionary theorists, from Friedrich Engels to Vladimir Lenin, have warned of these people and their pro-capitalist-imperialist ideology.
Which brings me to a certain document that was written in 1974 by Henry Kissinger, in collaboration with several groups – NSC, CIA, DoD, DoS, USAID, etc. etc. – titled the “National Security Study Memorandum 200” (NSSM 200). This document is important for several reasons.
1. Its very pro-Malthusian assertions result in the agenda of population control campaigns in foreign Third World countries, in the attempts of exterminating any spike in population among the poor regions, particularly that of the peasantry and working class;
2. It was also written as a means of fighting against the spread of Communism and anti-capitalism rebellions throughout said poor regions of Third World countries; and
3. On Nov. 26, 1975, the NSSM 200 was formally adopted as U.S. foreign policy by National Security Decision Memorandum 314 (NSDM 314), which was signed by Lt. General Brent Scowcraft, on behalf of then-President Gerald Ford.
You can read NSSM 200 here: http://www.whale.to/v/memorandum.html
You can read NSDM 314 here: http://www.fordlibrarymuseum.gov/library/document/0310/nsdm314.pdf
In accordance to NSSM 200, it states that:
“The political consequences of current population factors in the LDCs [less developed countries] … are damaging to the internal stability and international relations of countries in whose advancement the U.S. is interested, thus creating political or even national security problems for the U.S. … Adverse socio-economic conditions generated by these and related factors may contribute to … revolutionary actions.”
In other words, as according to the NSSM 200 – which is that of Kissinger and his bourgeois imperialist posse – we must restrain any growth of population in these designated regions of the world before they turn in the hands of revolutionary Communism, thus putting to death of capitalism-imperialism. Which is a big no-no to them apparently!
Know your enemies from your comrades. Anyone who glorifies the works of Thomas R. Malthus is not your friend, they’re not your comrade. They’re one of our biggest enemies. They are the capitalist-imperialists whom we’ve sworn to fight against to the very end.
